Fly to Boston for under £1000 in Upper Class this summer

Virgin Altantic plane mid-flight

It seems not all of the best deals are London-centric after all.

If you needed an incentive to start contemplating your summer plans, Virgin Atlantic are offering some excellent prices to Boston from Manchester this summer. This is likely aimed at promoting the launch of their 2 new direct routes from Manchester, beginning at the end of March to San Francisco and Boston respectively.

These are well worth a look even if you don’t have much interest in Boston itself. Atlanta, Chicago and Orlando are all within roughly 3 hours of Boston. New York is another interesting option and is only a short 1 hour flight from Boston.

Availability for this sub £1000 pricing seems to be widespread even in the peak summer months and can be booked through the end of October.

For example I priced up this trip for two weeks from the 16th to 30th August.

There are also some decent savings to be had to San Francisco. An Upper Class return from Manchester would be £1700. For reference, a direct service from Heathrow comes in at £2000. This may even be enough to persuade those living in London to start their journey in Manchester.

HOW TO BOOK

There a couple of requirements to book this fare. A minimum stay of 3 days is required although this need not be a Saturday night as is sometimes required with these sort of deals. Bookings must also be made 120 days in advance. As this books into a lower fare bucket, Upper Class complimentary chauffeur transfers are not included.

Bookings must be made by 7th February 2017.

VERDICT

Given how expensive travel can be to the US over the summer period regardless of which class you are travelling in, these prices are pretty compelling. This deal needn’t be limited to people based in the North either. At these prices it may well be worth hopping on a train up to Manchester even if you are based in London. It is well worth comparing pricing out of London and seeing how much of a saving this represents.

Head to the Virgin website and have a look if you can make this deal work for you.
