As seems to have become the norm for at least the last few years, British Airways (BA) has launched their regular ‘end-of-April’ sale. Similar to the ‘turn left for less’ sale that they ran back in March, this sale features reduced pricing in First Class, Club World and Club Europe as well as various BA Holiday deals.
There is also a couple of special offers on BA Holiday packages that end today – so you need to move fast if you want to take advantage!
For those who value direct flights and do not have limitless amounts of annual leave, these prices may well be the incentive you needed to lock in some holiday flights. Many of these prices are also available over the Christmas/New Year period which is more interesting.
The simplest method of searching for low fares is to use the Low Fare Finder Tool on ba.com. This allows you to easily view the cheapest fares across a number of months in different cabins.
Bear in mind though that these prices are only updated every 24 hours, therefore the price you see on Low Fare Finder Tool may not fully reflect availability or price shifts.
Standout Business Class (Club World) deals
I have had a trawl through the pricing available and have listed some of the interesting offers currently bookable:
All prices displayed are per person
Cancun – £1489
Miami -£1850
Orlando – £1693
Punta Cana – £1192
Tampa – £1493
Standout First Class deals
The following are some of the most interesting looking First Class offers available:
All prices displayed are per person
Miami – £2450
Muscat – £1874
Mexico City – £2406
Abu Dhabi – £1876
Standout Club Europe deals
There are numerous destinations bookable to destinations such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bordeaux, Milan, Nice and Paris that price up at in or around £200.
What is particularly interesting about these deals as that they would earn 80 British Airways tier points.
If you are just short of earning or retaining BA status, this could be a nice way to accomplish it and enjoy a great weekend break at the same time.
Longer routes such as Athens, Helsinki and Tenerife would earn 160 Tier Points return.
BA HOLIDAYS + SPECIAL OFFER TODAY ONLY
There are also some good BA Holiday deals for Flight+Hotel or Flight+Car packages.
The benefit of BA Holiday deals can be two-fold. Firstly, this can be a good way to pick up an excellent deal on your flights and hotels that would have been far more expensive to book separately.
The second benefit involves booking a hotel or car rental for just a very short period of your holiday even if you weren’t planning on booking one. For some reason, this serves to drag the price of the flights right down.
Remember that BA Holidays also earn bonus Avios and only require full payment 5 weeks before your flight so only a small deposit is required at time of booking.
You can find details of the various BA Holidays offers here
There is also an additional discount running until today – 9th May 2017 – on various BA Holidays:
- Save £25 per booking when you spend £750 on a Flight+Car package
- Save £50 when you spend £1250 on a Flight+Hotel or Flight+Car package
- Save £100 when you spend £2500 on a Flight+Hotel or Flight+Car package

VERDICT
Ultimately, there will always be a percentage of people who prefer paying a premium for flights in exchange for the ability to fly direct. For those people, luxury sales like this one will be well received.
There isn’t anything in this sale that had me leaping out of my seat and scrambling for my wallet.
That said, particularly with North American destinations, there is a certain logic in booking deals like the Miami or Orlando deals. Since owing to current regulations, you cannot fly the likes of Qatar or Etihad on routes such as these, and therefore there is no point holding out for one of their excellent sales. In which case, £1800 to Miami in business class over the Christmas period can actually represent a decent deal.
