A couple of weeks ago I covered the Virgin Atlantic summer sale, which had some decent little bits and bobs if direct flights from the UK are your thing. Last Thursday BA launched a new world sale. And the good news is it’s decidedly better than the last one that finished at the beginning of July!

Back in the June/July sale, it was a struggle to get much change out £2k for a business class return to North American destinations. This time around, things seem to have improved markedly, with some pretty decent offers to be had in First too.

First Class bargains?

Now there’s a sentence I don’t often find myself writing. BA is running a special First Class offer during this sale:

ba sale first class offer

Having a quick look at various destinations, it really does seem as simple as described.

There is a £200 premium for First Class over Club World to sale destinations. For example, flights to Toronto start at £1293 return in Club World and £1693 in First Class. Similarly, Philadelphia prices up at £1494 in Club World and £1894 in First.

BA Holiday offers

The benefits of BA Holiday deals can be two-fold. Firstly, this can be a good way to pick up an excellent deal on your flights and hotels that would have been far more expensive to book separately.

Secondly, it is worth remembering that BA Holidays earn bonus Avios and only require full payment 5 weeks before your flight with only a small deposit is required at time of booking. This may well appeal if you don’t fancy paying off a mid-2018 holiday in September 2017!

Here are some examples of BA Holiday pricing:

Las Vegas – British Airways offers three nights at the 3* Circus Circus Hotel, Casino & Theme Park / Excalibur, from £499 per person, travelling January 1 to January 31. Includes World Traveller return flights from Heathrow and accommodation.

New York – British Airways offers three nights at the 3* The Gallivant Times Square, from £469 per person, travelling January 7 – January 31. Includes World Traveller return flights from London Heathrow and accommodation.

How to book

Head over to the dedicated sale page on ba.com to view all of the available deals.

Alternatively, I have mentioned before the easiest way to check out the best deals in a BA sale is to use the Low Fare Finder Tool on ba.com. This allows you to easily view the cheapest fares across a number of months in different cabins.

Bear in mind though that these prices are only updated every 24 hours, therefore the price you see on Low Fare Finder Tool may not fully reflect availability or price shifts.

Full sale T&C’s can be found at the bottom of this page.

Sale ends 26th September 2017

Verdict

While there are no superb £1,008 Black Friday Club World deals, this is a solid sale, especially when you factor in the ability to fly direct and start from the UK. The fact that First Class also seems to be locked in at an extra £200 per leg for many destinations is a nice extra. If you do decide to splurge, look to do it on the outbound, that way you will have a chance to try the ‘new’ First Wing as well as the Concorde Room.

Head over to ba.com to see if you can find anything tempting.
