I wanted to drop readers a quick reminder of the British Airways (BA) and Virgin Atlantic sales that are ending in the coming week.
BA sale
I first covered the BA sale in this article here. At the time I said:
“While there are no superb £1,008 Black Friday Club World deals, this is a solid sale, especially when you factor in the ability to fly direct and start from the UK”.
I would stick by that assessment. There are still some decent deals to be snagged and sale pricing, in general, is a marked improvement on the June sale.
The easiest way to get a feel for BA sale pricing is to use the Low Fare Finder tool. This allows you to easily view the cheapest fares across a number of months in different cabins.
Here is a reminder of some of the headline figures:

First Class bargains?
Now there’s a sentence I don’t often find myself writing. BA is running a special First Class offer during this sale:
Having a quick look at various destinations, it really does seem as simple as described.
There is a £200 premium for First Class over Club World to sale destinations. For example, flights to Toronto start at £1293 return in Club World and £1693 in First Class. Similarly, Philadelphia prices up at £1494 in Club World and £1894 in First.
BA Holiday offers
BA Holiday deals can be a good way to pick up an excellent deal on your flights and hotels that would have been far more expensive to book separately.
Secondly, it is worth remembering that BA Holidays only require full payment 5 weeks before your flight with only a small deposit is required at time of booking. This may well appeal if you don’t fancy paying off a mid-2018 holiday in September 2017!
Here are some examples of BA Holiday pricing:
New York – British Airways offers three nights at the 3* The Gallivant Times Square, from £469 per person, travelling January 7 – January 31. Includes World Traveller return flights from London Heathrow and accommodation.
Barbados – British Airways offers seven nights at the 3* All Seasons Europa/Rostrevor, from £529 per person, travelling April 23 to June 29. Includes World Traveller return flights from Gatwick and accommodation.

Much like the Virgin sale below, bookings must be made by 26th September 2017.
Virgin sale
I first covered the Virgin Atlantic Summer sale when it launched back in August and they have since extended the end date to coincide with the end of the BA sale on the 26th September 2017.
Headline prices include:
Boston – Flights from £337 return
New York – Flights from £368 return
Orlando – Flights from £438 return
Los Angeles – Flights from £403 return
There are also very decent looking headline prices in Premium Economy:
New York – Flights from £601 return
Miami – Flights from £672 return
Los Angeles – Flights from £718 return
Miami and LA, in particular, seem to be a good bet on Virgin. A quick check reveals them beating BA and others on price by about £90-£100 per ticket on many dates between January and March 2018 for example.
The headline prices in Upper Class also look strong, whether you can find any dates at those prices remains to be seen.
Here are a few:
New York – Flights from £1502 return
Miami – Flights from £1538 return
Barbados – Flights from £1495 return
Los Angeles – Flights from £1678 return
You can find full sale details and book via the sale homepage here.
