British Airways launched their Black Friday offers earlier today. Unfortunately, there is no sign, as of yet, of the ‘2 for £2016’ business class deals we saw last year. Instead, there is a definite holiday (i.e flight+hotel/flight+car) focus this time around with European breaks starting at just £99.

There are many different versions of the offers, all running at once. I’ve listed five of them here and there are also various flight-only deals available. I would definitely recommend heading over to the Black Friday page on ba.com to see what you can find.

This for me is one of the best deals, if not the pick of the bunch!

A quick search reveals that direct business class flights to New York from London over the Christmas period start from about £2,300 per person. The InterContinental would cost anywhere between £150 and £350 per night during these couple of weeks. This deal is effectively offering a couple at least a £2,000 saving on the cost of booking the flights and hotel separately.

Verdict

I am slightly disappointed not to see a return of the 2 for £2016 business class fares that we saw last year. Incidentally, those weren’t a one-off either. BA offered business class tickets for roundabout £1000 per person in both 2013 and 2014. While not Qatar-esque, those prices made people sit up and take notice. Suddenly, many were cancelling Avios redemptions and rebooking their trips as cash tickets.

Nevertheless, there is definitely some good value to be had with some of these holiday packages. It is hard to argue with flights and a week’s car hire to many European destinations for £99 for example.
