British Airways are offering 100% bonus Avios on your next six flights before the 31st December 2019.
This promotion allows you to collect double base Avios across all routes and all cabins. Domestic flights in the UK and within southern Africa are also included, as well as British Airways flights operated by American Airlines, Iberia and Finnair (albeit only on travel between Europe and North America).
As part of British Airways’ ongoing 100th birthday celebrations, an additional 2019 bonus Avios will be awarded on completing six flights.

How to max the deal
If you have a decent amount of travel coming up between now and the end of the year, you have some calculations to make. Remember you only earn double Avios on your first six sectors after registering.
For example, you might have several short-haul economy trips to Europe followed by various long-haul flights to the US or Asia in Club World in the next few months. In that case, you’d probably be better off not adding your BA Executive Club details to the short-haul bookings (unless you’re chasing tier points of course) to avoid exceeding your ‘six sectors allowance’ too early on. Double Avios is clearly going to be more valuable on long-haul business class flights rather than short-haul economy trips.
To give you an idea of what this offer is worth, here’s a random trip to Miami in Premium Economy. The BA Avios calculator suggests you’d earn a bonus 4,430 Avios each way for this trip. For a couple, you’re looking at over 17,000 bonus Avios in addition to your regular Avios – that’s a great return.
Double BA OnBusiness points too
The British Airways OnBusiness program doesn’t feature much on Tricks of the Trade. But if you are a member, it’s worth noting that BA has launched a promotion offering 100% bonus On Business Points on up to six flights until the end of 2019.
Plus an additional 2,200 On Business Points when you complete six flights.
If you happen to be self-employed you can do very nicely out of this offer indeed!

Verdict
It’s good to see this offer make a return and a quite a bit earlier in the year than we’ve seen it in the past. If you’ve got a mix of short/long-haul travel planned for the rest of the year, make sure to avoid maxing out your double Avios allowance on less-valuable short-haul flights!
I’d recommend taking 30 seconds to register now even if you have no immediate travel plans. You have three weeks to book and then a full nine months to travel – you never know what may come up in the interim.
