Hilton and IHG have both launched new summer hotel promotions in the last couple of days.

The Hilton Honors offer is called ‘Go More, Get More‘ and is essentially a return of their double points promotions of the past, with a couple of extra bonuses available for hitting certain thresholds.

Meanwhile, IHG Rewards Club has released the latest version of their Accelerate-style offer – called ‘Make Every Stay Count‘ – which gives members a series of personalised targets to hit to unlock bonus points.

Hilton Honors

Hilton Go More Get More

Promotion name: Go More, Get More

What’s the offer? Double points on every stay (starting on your 2nd stay). Plus 10,000 Bonus Points on your 10th stay, 15,000 points on your 15th stay and 20,000 points on your 20th stay.

Promotion dates: 6th May 2019 – 8th September 2019

Registration required: Yes. Register via this link

Participating hotel brands: Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Curio Collection, Waldorf Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Canopy by Hilton, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Embassy Suites, DoubleTree by Hilton, Hilton Grand Vacations, Hilton Garden Inn, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Home2 Suites, Hampton by Hilton, Tru by Hilton and Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

Are pre-existing reservations eligible? Yes. As long as you have registered for the promotion prior to check-out, you’ll earn bonus points no matter when the stay was booked. I have done this with a previous promotion and can confirm it works fine.

Are Reward (points redemptions) stays eligible for this promotion? Yes

IHG Rewards Club

ihg-rewards-club-accelerate-2019 - Make Every Stay Count

Promotion name: Make Every Stay Count

What’s the offer? For the last few years, IHG Rewards Club has been running personalised promotions known as Accelerate. I wrote a detailed piece explaining Accelerate here.

IHG is still offering a set of personalised Accelerate-style challenges albeit under a different name. I’d wanted to share my target on here as I’ve done in the past, however, there seems to be an issue with the IHG  site which is preventing me from registering.

I’ll update this post once the issue is resolved. In the meantime, here’s a reminder of my target for Q1 2019:

IHG Reward Nights Faster challenge

Promotion dates: 1st May 2019 to 31st August 2019 (inclusive).

Registration required: Yes, before 18th June 2019 via this link

Participating hotel brands: InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo, Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, Kimpton, EVEN, Regent Hotels & Resorts or HUALUXE hotels worldwide

Do Reward (points) stays count towards this promotion? No. Reward nights do not count as a qualifying stay in terms of hitting your personalised targets.

Verdict

In all honesty, neither of these promotions represents something radical in terms of something we haven’t seen before. Yet, both of them do have the potential to be fairly lucrative.

Much will depend of course on the nature of your IHG personalised target and whether it’s reasonably attainable or not. I am pleased to see that Hilton has mixed things up somewhat. In recent times, they’ve flipped back and forth between offering 2,000 bonus points per stay and double points offers. Throwing in additional bonus points, triggered at 10,15 and 20 nights respectively makes this double points offer much more attractive for those who make multiple, inexpensive short stays – for work or otherwise.

Either way, I always recommend taking a minute to register for both offers now via the links below. After all, you never know what travel may crop up over the next four months.
