In a separate article this week, I covered the Heathrow Rewards loyalty program and the excellent 3,000 points for opening a new account offer, that’s currently running.

However, I know that in terms of location, for a number of our readers Gatwick is certainly the most convenient London airport. Ahead of the busy Bank Holiday travel period, I want to take a look at Gatwick Aiport’s member program – myGatwick.

What is the myGatwick program?

myGatwick is free to join. Unlike Heathrow Rewards, there is no option for earning Avios or other airline miles from your airport, unfortunately. Nevertheless, myGatwick does offer you access to various discounts and offers at Gatwick Airport.

Are myGatwick offers any good?

On logging into my myGatwick account, the (landside) offers include:

  • 20% off Gatwick Premium Security
  • 35% off a standard cabin at YOTEL
  • Free luggage tag tracker from ReboundTag
  • £5 off when you spend £20 on books at WH Smith
  • £1 coffee with any pastry/croissant at Joes
  • £1 coffee with any pastry/croissant at Giraffe
  • 15% off total food bill at Giraffe World Kitchen (before security)

Adding your flight details seems to unlock an additional range of offers including:

  • 10% off Official Gatwick Parking
  • 20% off Gatwick Premium Passport Control
  • Up to 10% off No1 Lounges, myLounge and Clubrooms
  • Free one-hour of lounge access at Regus Express (South Terminal) with a second hour available at £8.
  • £10 off £150 spend at World Duty-Free – although there’s no mention of the free bag!
  • £20 off £100 spend at Sunglasses Hut
  • 2 travel pillows for £15 at Dixons Travel
  • 20% off airport transfers at your destination with HolidayTaxis
  • 50p off a standard meal deal at WHSmith
  • Kids eat free at Wondertree (with purchase of one adult meal)
  • 15% off your total food bill at Wondertree (min spend £20)

Verdict

None of these offers will make or break your holiday, but if you do fly to/from Gatwick, even occasionally, it’s worth taking two minutes to sign up for myGatwick. A quick check of the available offers before you travel and you should be able to save yourself some money at the airport.

  1. I use myGatwick on a weekly basis. It’s worth highlighting the discount available on on-site or official valet parking which, for me, mean I now use on site services every time rather than 3rd party off site parking (whether valet or long stay)

    1. Fair point – not sure why that one was excluded from the list actually, have added it in thanks.

Airport parking isn’t something I personally do on a regular basis as I often fly in/out of different airports, but have you had a look at our Holiday Extras/APH links for airport parking? They’re usually pretty competitive whenever I’ve had a quick look.
